uniformity

o the horror.
uniformity: another word that says it all it's in dictionary reference :
1. the state or quality of being uniform; overall sameness, homogeneity, or regularity: uniformity of style.


2. something uniform.

Today I got my uniform for work, this idea was brought up recently right about when I got here. So the previous six years the business has been running they have gone without. The second I get here all of a sudden someone can't stand the need to want to find clothes for themselves, express themselves, wear something that makes the feel and look good but staying on a professional level. Instead: they want uniformity. I am wearing the same thing as you, and you the same as the next.
I can't even wear a skirt with this uniform, any skirt is considered 'mini' even when it's not.
the need to express one's self is vital to a person's personality.

but then again, i take myself a little more open and understanding and think maybe the painful truth of it all is that this is what helps these people express themselves and their personalities. How ruthless and professional and how they are a team worker and follower and conformist.

I on the other hand believe solely in the pure expressive stance at all times. whether its' my hair, my shoes, my pants, my shirt these our ways I am saying I am not like everyone else, I take pride in the way I look the way I dress it makes me feel good and I care nothing about what you think or how you are dressed. You are your own as I am mine, can't we work together and consalidate our views and still be able to express ourselves in a fashionable manner.

why so matchy matchy. When I was in the banking business I was clearly in no vote. It was blue on monday, yellow tuesday blah blah. Banks in Miami don't care less, they let you express yourself as long as your dressed professional. This is the way to go. I believe that those who are in uniform set standards as recognizing their purpose. Policemen, Military, security.... etc their purpose is to protect therefore they wear these uniforms so that we as a whole know who they are what the do, what the stand for...
there is no guessing game, all is the same we know exactly what they came for.
it's not a bad thing...
